We believe that swimming is THE sport for life. One of the only sports that we can safely do up into our senior years because it's good for your heart and kind on your joints, and keeps you flexible and strong for life.

Yet, beyond youth teams and college swimming, older swimmers lack events to set goals on or to train for .. except for openwater swimming and triathlon. And we are not all built for long-distance swimming ..

What happens to those of us who like swimming butterfly (eek), breaststroke, backstroke, or sprinting a 50m?

The answer is to build what we need and we hope that you join us. The Swimjunkie Team invites you to the Swimjunkie Masters Meet this March 24, 2024 at the Muntinlupa Aquatics Center (50meter pool), at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex. All swimmers, former swimmers, recreational swimmers, and triathletes aged 25 and above, we hope you join us in this mission to stay fit for life.

The individual events include 50meter sprints for each stroke, the 100m and 200m freestyle, and the 200m Individual Medley. One fee gives you the freedom to swim one, or up to seven different individual events. The 4x50m relays are open to men's, women's and mixed teams (2 men, 2 women) for Freestyle and the IM.

Eligibility

Participants must be registered and at least 25 years of age as of March 24, 2024. A swimmer does not need to be affiliated with any team or a swim association, all are welcome – as long as you can complete a 50-meter swim without stopping.

We encourage swimmers to form teams and prepare team names, these may be indicated upon registration

Age Groups

Age for the meet is determined as of March 24, 2024. Age groups for individual events: 25–29, 30–34, 35–3, and so on, with five-year increments until 65 & above.

Seeding

Seeding allows us to group you (into heats) according to your pace. When possible, racers must indicate their estimated swim time either based on training records or a previous swim meet. Racers may indicate no-time (NT) if you do not have an official time please note that you will be grouped into early/slower heats if classed as NT. Events will be seeded by age group, with the oldest age groups first, longest to fastest times within each group. For a more efficient flow of events some age-groups may be grouped with one or more age-groups, within a single heat/event.

Event Check-In

As your race heat and event approaches, swimmers will be called to the Check-In zone to sit by heats and/or events. Failure to check in will result in the swimmer being scratched from the event.

Warm-Up Details

The competition pool will be open for warm-up on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 6:15am – 7:45am.

Swimmers must enter the pool feet first in a cautious and controlled manner. No diving or backstroke starts will be allowed, except in designated sprint lanes. One or two lanes will be designated as one-way sprint lanes during the pre-meet warm-up. Any swimmer who acts in an unsportsmanlike or unsafe manner within the swimming venue may be issued a penalty/removal. Pull buoys, kickboards, fins, hand paddles, and snorkels are not allowed in the competition pool.

Scratches

A scratch is when you do not show up at the check-in zone or at your lane before the race. Any swimmer failing to report to the proper lane in the correct heat of an event will be scratched from that event and will not be permitted to swim at a later time.

Online Entries

Online registration will open on February 1, 2024, and will close at midnight on March 1. The Meet team may extend registration with a surcharge increase from P2,500 to P3,000 up to March 15, 2024

Fees

Fees are P2,500 for signing up for one or more (up to all seven 7) individual events. One payment for one to seven individual events. The registration platform will accept gcash, bank deposits, and credit card payments. It will take up to 24 hours to verify payments.

Relay fees are P5,800 per team. One person per team will register for the team. Please be ready with the names and ages of your relay mates.

Refund requests must be received in writing by February 29. No refunds will be given from March 1 onward.
