Makiling Challenge XV: Stride for Paws
a prestigious and long-standing provincial foot race, returns with vigor under the inspiring theme “Stride for PAWS” (Promoting Animal Welfare through Sports). This event, organized by the Makiling Campus Runners, is set to take place at the University of the Philippines Los Baños on December 16, 2023. Having begun in 2003, the Makiling Challenge has become a yearly tradition, only interrupted by the recent pandemic. Now, it’s making a triumphant comeback, offering a unique blend of challenge and excitement for runners of all levels.
Participants can choose from a variety of distances: 1k, 3k, 5k, 10k, and 16k, each promising a thrilling experience through the less-trodden paths of Los Baños, Laguna. The race routes are designed to showcase the natural beauty and challenging terrain of Mount Makiling, including the elevated areas of UPLB, the Jamboree Road, and the vicinity of the Philippine High School for the Arts. Runners will encounter a mix of uphill and downhill sections, making for an exhilarating and memorable race.
