Wild Spaces presents CAPE SANTIAGO EPIC RACE 2024.

This is the 2nd edition of the Cape Santiago Epic Race - a bike race that has it all, with a great mix of paved and unpaved roads, wide open views, demanding ascents and breathtaking descents, technical trails and fast track all rolled into one big adventure.

REGISTRATION FEE AND INCLUSIONS

100KM

  • 2,300 php Early Bird (Nov. 1 - 30, 2023)
  • 2,700 php Regular rate (Dec. 1 - Jan 10, 2024)
  • 3,000 php Late Registration (Jan. 11, 2024 – Feb. 15, 2024)

Inclusions:

  • Event SHIRT
  • Entrance at the lighthouse (during the race)
  • Race Bib
  • Refreshments at aid station
  • Official finishers will receive a medal
  • Post-race meal
  • Raffle entry

28KM

  • 1,100 php Early Bird (Nov. 1 - 30, 2023)
  • 1,500 php Regular rate (Dec. 1 - Jan 10, 2024)
  • 1,800 php Late Registration (Jan. 11, 2024 – Feb. 15, 2024)

RACE KIT CLAIMING

1. Every participant is required to sign a WAIVER, AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY form before the race.
2. Any valid ID must be presented upon claiming.
3. A mandatory gear check will be done.
4. Participants 17 years old and below must present the consent and waiver form signed by Parents or Guardians.


DISCIPLINE (with minimum requirement)

1. MOUNTAIN BIKE (MTB) - must have front suspension and minimum tire size 2.0
2. GRAVEL BIKE - must have drop bar and recommended tire size 38c and above. Flat bar will be considered but not qualified for a podium spot
3. E-BIKE MTB AND GRAVEL

100 KM - Finish line cut off 9 hours [2:30PM]

  2. CAPE SANTIAGO 28KM FUN RIDE (March 17, 2024)

0KM  – Starts at 07:00AM
28KM – Finish line cut off 5 hours (12:00nn)

RACE RULES AND GUIDELINES

All participants joining this event must understand that innate challenges exist and therefore must be prepared. For the safety and welfare of all, those involved in this event, the participants must meet the following requirements:

REGISTRATION

1. Participants must be physically fit.
2. 17 years old and below must download and print the consent and waiver form and then have it signed by their Parents or Guardians. This must be presented upon kit claiming.
3. Registration is nonrefundable.
4. Transferring of registration to another person is NOT allowed.
5. We use your registration funds to pay for the necessary items and services needed to host the event. With that in mind, refunds will not be provided for this event unless the event is cancelled for reasons within our control. The following are examples (but not limited to) of reasons an event might be canceled that are NOT within our control: dangerous weather; natural disasters; pandemics; acts of terrorism; local emergencies; government mandates; and any situation creating a threat to the safety of participants, volunteers, staff or bystanders.

RACE KIT CLAIMING (Cape Santiago Lighthouse)

March 16, 2024 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm only (all categories)

March 17, 2024 - 4:00am to 5:00am only (100km);

                                 5:35am - 6:30am (28km)

March 17, 2024 - 06:00am to 07:00am at Brgy Carlosa covered court (50km only). 

RACE BRIEFING

  • 05:00am (100km);
  • 06:30am (28km);
  • 07:00am (50km) During the event

1. Participants are not allowed to change bib numbers or substitutes on their behalf.
2. Participants are advised to bring mandatory gear.
3. Bib numbers must be visible at all times during the race.
4. Given the distances between aid/water stations, every participant is required to have a hydration bottle/ bladder and trail food to sustain them between stations.
5. Race numbers must be presented to the assigned marshal at different checkpoints. Numbers, names, and times will be recorded.
6. Beyond cut-off time is no exemption.
7. Declaring DNF (Did not finish) must contact the race director or nearest marshal to inform him of his intention.
8. Those who declare themselves as DNF at any point of the course will be at the participant’s expense. Vehicles may be hired at negotiated rates.

Disqualification

  1. Lost BIB number
  2. Bike below minimum requirements
  3. No Mandatory gears
  4. Cheating, short-cut and course-marking sabotage.
  5. Unregistered pacer and support crew are not allowed.
  6. Any complaint must be made within 24 hours after the race and must be made in writing, signed and submitted to the race director.

Course Descriptions

All categories will start and finish at CAPE SANTIAGO LIGHTHOUSE in Brgy. Bagong Silang, Calatagan, Batangas.

The route is an open trail and public road. Observe extra caution when going downhill, crossing roads and passing technical trails. Always keep right on public roads. Participants are encouraged to practice trail courtesy. Yield to fast riders.

The course will be marked properly with trail signs, ribbons, and cautions to assist with route navigation. Marshals are stationed at all critical sections of the course. No time credits will be given to any participants who get lost.

Aid and water stations are assigned at certain points of the course. Checkpoints are placed along the course.

The organizer/ race director reserves the right to modify the rules and the race route at any time or during the race for the safety and welfare of the participants.

The event pushes through, rain or shine unless the race organizers announce its cancellation or postponement at least 48 hours prior to race event for reasons beyond their control, such as extreme weather and any condition that may render the course unsafe.

Free parking but limited slots only at the lighthouse. Free parking along the highway near the lighthouse.
