KIDNEY MONTH RUN WITH AMCV!

In celebration of the National Kidney Month, Adventist Medical Center--Valencia in cooperation with Valencia Runners Club presents to you the... KIDNEY RUN COLOR BLAST 2022!

Adventist Medical Center-Valencia City, Inc. (AMCV) is a non-stock, non-profit faith-based healthcare facility located at A. Aguilar Street, Poblacion, Valencia City, dedicated to providing optimum quality care to all clients in Valencia City, Bukidnon, and nearby municipalities. Dedicated to health and welfare, We had partnered up with the Valencia Runners Club to spread more awareness about Kidney Month.

Every June, we celebrate National Kidney Month! Let us simultaneously instill in the public, awareness of health care and prevention of the causes of kidney disease! We are cooperating with the Adventist Medical Center: Valencia City to promote and support the availability of wide access to medicine or treatment for our countrymen who are suffering from kidney disease.

Chronic Kidney Disease V affects some 10,800 Filipinos yearly.  Each year 30,000 to 40,000 CKD V patients need to undergo dialysis.  There were 7,109 CKD V patients recorded at the NKTI in 2007.  Kidney disease often cannot be cured, but fortunately, it can be prevented. Early detection and prevention of kidney failure is vital, as is the need to ensure that acute cases avoid, if possible, the progression to Chronic Kidney Disease V. Prevention and early management, although very extensive can achieve significant benefits for the public. This has generally become a responsibility of the National Kidney and Transplant Institute.

PROCEEDS FOR THE EVENT WILL BENEFIT THE DIALYSIS PATIENTS AND CHARITY PATIENTS OF AMCV

CITY OF VALENCIA

Located in the heart of Mindanao is the City of Valencia in the Province of Bukidnon. With its hills and plains rich in natural resources, the brisk trade and the rich harvest from the various farms, it is considered as the agri-tourism capital ofthe province of Bukidnon.

Valencia City is a warm, lovely, and always welcoming city. It is home to almost 200,000 people distributed in about 40,000 households spread over a land area of approximately 100,000 hectares. This makes Valencia City the local government unit serving the greatest number of people in the province.

Nestled among the hills of Bukidnon, at the valley in the shadows of both the Mt. Kalatungan and Mt. Kitanglad mountain ranges, Valencia City is a vast plain traversed by the mighty Pulangi River. Once navigated only with bamboo rafts locally called ‘gakit’, the Pulangi River made Valencia the center of trade in the old days. The gakits were loaded with produce like abaca and coffee from the northern parts of the province and were floated down the river to the dock in Valencia. The goods were exchanged with salt, fabric for clothing, and the like. The plains of Valencia used to be a vast pasture land for the cattle country that was Bukidnon. Now the old pasture lands, collectively called Valencia Plains, yield the best tasting, nationally famous Valencia rice. This rice variety is produced with the blessing of the Pulangi River, the powerful source of water for the vast irrigation system needed for the plains.
